Artisan Press Inc. is a commercial printing company servicing the printing needs of over 400 customers in a multi state region. In addition to the music industry, our customers are manufacturing companies, hospitals, school districts and retail businesses. Word Entertainment has been a customer for over 15 years. Other long time clients include Shanachie, Intercontinental, Great West Casualty Company, VT Industries, Blue Ox, and Wells Blue Bunny Dairy.

We have been in business for over 50 years operating under three different owners. From 1952 to 1977, the company was known as Bolstein Printing. Then in 1977 it was purchased by Bear Graphics and operated as such until 1989 when the current owner and president, Scott R. Kuehl, a Bear Graphics salesman since 1984, purchased it and changed the name to Artisan Press. At that time, there were four sales people, with total employees numbering 25. Over the past 13 years we have doubled our sales staff and our total number of employees has increased 50%. Many of our current employees have been here since the company was known as Bear Graphics.

Artisan Press has been at its current location since 1977. However, in 1995 we went through extensive construction and remodeling to increase the building’s square footage from 12,000 to 25,000 and modernize the office area. In addition to the Sioux City plant, we have one salesman living in Sioux Falls, SD and servicing that area.

We are continually evaluating our equipment and purchasing new equipment as necessary to produce a product of the highest quality, at a competitive price, in a timely manner. In the past seven years, we have purchased two presses, two folders, a cutter and a bookbinder. In 2004, we updated our computer-to-plate system, including a new proofing system which includes the ability to proof jobs online.
