Artisan Press utilizes a Mac –based prepress workflow. Please review the following guidelines when creating and organizing your artwork. If you have any questions, call us at 712-258-0684 or email Artisan's Creative Services Department.

File Formats
Be sure your images are saved with the correct file format. JPEG images will not output properly. Images should be saved as tiff or eps files.

Color Management

• Four color process images must be saved as CMYK tiff or eps files. RGB files will not work.
• All spot color names must be consistent, especially if more than one application is used to create your document. (CVC & CVU colors will not print out on the same plate). Run lasers of separations to check.
• Because of trapping issues, please include all original eps and tiff files.

Resolution
Images (CMYK or gray scale) that are saved as tiff files should be at least 300 dpi at actual size.

Document
Your finished document should be the actual size (trim size) of the printed piece. Allow for bleeds of not less than 0.125". Layouts are prefered in printer’s spreads or single pages.

Print Project Management

• Include all printer (postscript) and screen (bitmap) fonts. TrueType® fonts will not output correctly on our imagesetter.
  
• Do not embed images into PageMaker documents. Include all original linked graphics.
  
• Include all artwork (ie. photos, logos, clip art, etc.) required and place in the same folder as the output file. Be sure to include the correct linked versions.
  
• Spelling and grammar are NOT checked on jobs provided by the customer.
  
• Before sending your disk to Artisan Press, close all programs, remove disk from your computer, reinsert and open file(s) to make sure it works properly.
  
• Always include a hard copy of your job.

We accept art files on CD-Rom, 100 MB Zip disks, 250 meg MB disks, and 1 GB Jazz disks.
